Lanreath Parish Council – January 2012

The January meeting of Lanreath Parish Council was held on 17th January.  Apologies were received from Mrs I Keen.

The Clerk read a letter of resignation received from Mr T Latham.

PCSO Cocks – PCSO Cocks reported that from 1st November to 31st December 2011, there had been 2 crimes in the public domain.  One of common assault, and the other cheque fraud.  It was reported that heating oil, diesel oil and scrap metal are being targeted.  The importance of immediately reporting anything suspicious was stressed.  The police newsletter was circulated, and councillors were urged to read this each month.  Farm Watch is progressing, and PCSO Cocks stated that he is in the progress of visiting farms in the area.  It was added that there are soon to be a number of road works in the parish, and parishioners are urged to bear with this.  Numerous patrols have taken place and all has been found to be in order.  It was added that patrols had been increased following the attempted burglaries at the Spar shops in Dobwalls and Looe.  Thanks were expressed for these increased patrols.  PCSO Cocks reported that he had received concerns regarding mud on the roads at Herodsfoot.  Words of advice have been passed on to the farmer concerned.

Mrs Pipe proposed that the minutes be accepted.  This was seconded by Mrs Lee and the minutes were agreed as a true record and signed by the Chair.

Matters Arising
Millennium Green – further quotes for renewing the whole path are awaited.

1 Court Meadow – the tree has now been cut down.

Debris in road – Mr J Facey was concerned that the correct procedure had not been followed regarding the sending of a letter to Mr White.  It was stressed, however, that this had been agreed by all councillors at the October meeting following complaints received from parishioners.

Neighbourhood Plan – Cllr Pugh stated that there would be a meeting of his 5 parishes with Sarah Arden at Luxstowe House on Tuesday 7th February at 7.30 p.m.  All were encouraged to attend.

All correspondence was read, considered and actioned as appropriate.

Planning
Shillamill Lakes  Lanreath – Tree Preservation Order 2011 and Shillamill Lakes  Lanreath  No 2 Tree Preservation Order 2011.  A public meeting to discuss the newly submitted plans for Shillamill Lakes was arranged for 31st January at 7.30 p.m.

Shop/Post Office
It was noted that the shop would like a firm decision from the Parish Council as to whether the Council would help fund the planned improvements.  To be discussed at the next meeting.

County Councillor’s Report
Mr Pugh reported on the following items:-
·  Litter bin at the Village Hall has not been emptied
·  Recycling – following discussion, it was agreed that the recycling banks at the Village Hall be removed.  This was seconded by Mr Knight
·  Buses – tenders for bus services have been received and will be decided within the next week.  There will be a short period of consultation.

Any Other Business
Mrs Pipe commented on the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in June.  Ideas would be welcome.  Mrs Lee proposed that the under 16s of the parish be presented with mugs.  This was seconded by Mrs Pipe.
