Lanreath Parish Council – February 2010

At the meeting of Lanreath Parish Council, apologies were received from Mrs I Keen, Mr J Facey, Mrs N Johns, Mr T Latham and PCSO Cocks.

It was noted that between 20th January and 15th February, there had been no crimes in the parish.  PCSO Cocks stated in his report that there has been a recent spate of burglaries, mainly tools and gardening equipment, from isolated rural sheds in neighbouring parishes. Various patrols have been carried out in the village and surrounding area to find all in order.

The question of possible allotments is still being pursued. It was noted that the Parish Council are still pursuing the possibility of attaining land for allotments.

It was agreed that the Barbara Cox bench should be put in place as soon as possible, on a site below the church.

The fencing quotes for the play area at Carlyon Close will be chased up.

It was noted that the turfing is now complete at the play area.

It was noted that £439 has been allocated to the Youth Project from the County Community Chest.

The ‘No Dogs Allowed’ sign for the play area has been ordered.

All correspondence was read and actioned as appropriate.

Planning – The Parish Council approved an application for a polytunnel on land adjacent to Penwill, Lanreath.

Cllr Pugh updated the meeting on work ongoing at county, namely that yellow pages can now be recycled, parking chares to remain as current for the first hour and details of the recent CAN meeting.  Cllr Pugh would also like to know of any potholes in the roads within the parish.

Mrs Pipe updated the meeting on the current situation at the school.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Tuesday 16th March 2010 at 7.30 p.m.
