Lanreath Parish Council – 15th June 2010
At the monthly meeting of the Parish Council, PCSO Cocks reported that there had been no crime in the parish between 18th May and 15th June. It was reported that the broken window at the school had been boarded up. It was noted that a complaint had been received regarding speeding lorries at Shillamill Lakes, and the hauliers have been contacted. PCSO Cocks congratulated Siobhan Rawlins on the progress of the play area.
The minutes of the meeting held on 18th May were agreed.
It was noted that Andrew Facey would speak with Gerald Facey regarding moving the Barbara Holden bench which has been requested by Mrs Holden’s family.
It was noted that the turfing at Carlyon Close has been completed.
Siobhan Rawlins stated that the fencing has been completed at Carlyon Close
With regard to a cupboard to be made for the toilet, the quote from Mr Whitehorn was accepted.
With regard to the vacancy for a parish councillor, those interested were advised to write to the clerk.
Cllr Pugh agreed to speak with Rebecca Dickson regarding replacing the bollard at Corner Cottage.
With regard to the idea of ball games being held at the school garden, Parish Councillors did not think this was a good idea as the ball may be kicked into the main road.
With regard to the play area, it was noted that further funding had been provided from SITA. The Parish Council adopted a Child Protection Policy, and Sandra Pipe agreed to act as Child Protection Officer.
All correspondence was read and actioned as appropriate.
It was noted that the shop and post office is running well following a successful AGM. It was added that more volunteers have been recruited.
The planning application for the construction of an extension at Wykeham was agreed by those present.
Cllr Pugh agreed to contact the Dog Warden regarding ‘No Dogs Allowed’ signs for Carlyon Close.
Cllr Pugh updated the meeting regarding problems being experienced with the new lighting in Grylls Park, the Luxstowe office in Liskeard is to remain open, first Tourism Panel meeting has been held.
Tony Latham stated that three further videos of May Day have been added to the website.
The next meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Monday 19th July 2010 at 7.30 p.m.
